Satellite-based device used for sending emergency text messages recovered from Israeli tourist at Jammu Airport
JAMMU, 24 July 2023: The satellite-based device, which is used for sending emergency (SOS) text messages, was recovered from a 23-year-old Israeli tourist, who was scheduled to board a Leh-based flight of Indian Airlines from Jammu Airport on Monday.
As per the reports, the security personnel deputed at Jammu Airport detected a satellite-based device, Magnus Emergency Text Service, and stopped the passenger to board the flight till ascertaining the facts.
Talking to Take One, SHO Satwari Inspector Sumit Sharma confirmed that the device was recovered and there was nothing suspicious about it.
“The device is generally for sending send text messages in case of emergencies and the tourists generally carry it during their journeys and there is nothing suspicious about it”, SHO Satwari asserted.
He further informed that the Israeli tourist will be allowed to board the next flight which to be scheduled from Jammu to Leh.
