SDM, Khaltse chaired a meeting regarding regulation of Traffic and Cleaniness in the Khaltse Market.
Khaltse, April 10, 2025: With the onset of the summer season and the consequent increase in traffic movement in the Khaltse Market area, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharief, convened a meeting with concerned officers and stakeholders to discuss traffic regulation and cleanliness measures, on yesterday April 09, 2025.
The meeting featured a comprehensive discussion on streamlining traffic flow and maintaining cleanliness in and around Khaltse Market. It was decided that shopkeepers will not be allowed to park their vehicles near their shops within the market area.
The SDM directed the concerned officers to take effective measures to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and maintain hygiene. He emphasized the importance of implementing speed limit signboards, regulating parking time within the market, designating proper parking areas, and using ‘No Parking’ stickers to facilitate better vehicle movement and reduce congestion.
The meeting was attended by Station House Officer (SHO), Khaltse–Jamyany Namgail; Officer-in-Charge, (OIC) 81 RCC GREF – Syam SV; Block Development Officer (BDO), Khaltse –Pankaj Rajput; Sub-Inspector, Police Station Khaltse –Skarma Angchok; Junior Engineer, GREF – Dhanukonda Dileep; Namberdar, Khaltse –Stanzin Phurboo; President, Merchant Association Khaltse – Thinles Dorjay; Vice President, Merchant Association Khaltse – Rigzin Yangjor.
Following the meeting, the SDM, along with concerned officers and stakeholders, conducted a field visit to the congested areas of the Khaltse Market, the parking zone for taxis and private vehicles, and the Segregation Centre to assess the ground realities.
