Listen to grievances of locals; assure transparent disbursement of compensation
PARGWAL, FEBRUARY 22: Sub Divisional Magistrate Khour, Anil Kumar Thakur on Wednesday listened to the grievances of the general public, especially to clear the pending compensation to the eligible beneficiaries.
The SDM was accompanied by Manjeet Singh, Tehsildar Pargwal and field staff of Tehsil Pargwal.
An open enquiry camp was organized in Village Deora, Tehsil Pargwal under the chairmanship of the SDM.
In the camp, the name of beneficiaries was read out and the general public was asked to report any discrepancies.
The SDM also inquired from the villagers about the allegation of demand of bribe levelled against a local Patwari. However, none of them agreed to the allegations against the said Patwari.
A local villager said that the message mentioning his name in the complaint was fake and he was being made scapegoat in this matter. He said no one has demanded any bribe from him.
In addition, on the directions of SDM, the villagers of adjoining villages viz Rajpura, Pindi, Chak Phagwari etc were also called in the enquiry camp and asked if any official from revenue department asked for any bribe for the payment of compensation, everybody denied the allegations.
The eligible beneficiaries were asked to submit the Account Numbers in the camp itself so that the payments could be made in a more transparent manner through DBT.
