SDM Mendhar conducts tour of Rasiyar Panchayat Upper Mankote to assess issues of public importance
Officials directed to formulate proposal for link road under Forests Rights Act and resolve issues of respective departments
POONCH, MAY 27: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Mendhar, Jahangir Khan today conducted an extensive tour of village Rasiyar Panchayat Upper Mankote on foot, along with other officials, to assess the hardships, and afflictions faced by the villagers on a daily basis.
The village is located close to the LOC and lacks basic amenities such as road connectivity, water supply, health facilities, and schools.
During the tour, the SDM met with the inhabitants of the area, listened to their grievances, and assured them that their problems would be projected to the higher authorities for redressal on a priority basis.
The locals demanded a link road to Village Rasiyar from Choie road, which is about 3-4 km away. The SDM assured them that a link road would be provided under the Forest Rights Act at the earliest.
The sarpanch of Mankote Upper and other concerned officials were instructed to prepare and submit the proposal to the SDM office to be placed before the Forest Rights Committee for clearance and onward submission to district authorities for the needful.
The officers from Line departments were also directed to mitigate/resolve the issues of the public pertaining to their respective departments at the earliest.
This tour is a significant step towards identifying and addressing the problems faced by the villagers of Rasiyar Panchayat Upper Mankote and providing them with basic amenities that they are entitled to.
The SDM’s commitment to addressing the grievances of the villagers is commendable, and it is hoped that the necessary steps will be taken by the authorities to ensure that the villagers are provided with the basic facilities that they need for a better quality of life.
