SDM prohibits sale, consumption of liquor, non-veg food in Katra
KATRA, APRIL 08: Sub-Divisional Magistrate today issued Prohibitory orders restricting sale/possession/consumption of liquor and non-vegetarian food such as eggs, chicken, meat, mutton, sea food, fish, prawns, lobster etc. in Katra Town and certain areas in the territorial jurisdiction of the Sub-Division.
“In suppression of all previous orders on the subject, I, Piyush Dhotra Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Katra by virtue of powers vested in me under section 163 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) do hereby, prohibit sale/possession/consumption of liquor and non-vegetarian food such as eggs, chicken, meat, mutton, sea food, fish, prawns, lobster etc. in Katra and following given areas in the territorial jurisdiction of Sub-Division, Katra” the order stated.
The restrictions have been imposed on the track from Katra to Holy Cave and in villages within a distance of upto 02 Km on both sides of the track; Arli, Hansali and Matyal Villages; Within 200 meters on both sides of the Katra-Tikri Road, including villages Chamba, Serli and Bhagta; Within 200 meters on both sides of the Katra-Jammu Road including villages Kundrorian, Kotli Bajallian, Nomain and Maghal; Within 200 meters on both sides of Katra-Reasi Road from Katra to Nau Devian and Aghar Jitto and Nau Devian markets; Within 200 meters on both sides of the Railway Station Katra-Sool Road and Within 100 meters on both sides of Panthal-Domall Road.
The order shall remain in force for two months from the date of its issuance unless revoked earlier.
