Second Round of Back to Village Program-5 takes off in Samba District
Senior Govt functionaries review development activities in 58 Gram Panchayats
SAMBA, November 14: The Back to Village program’s fifth phase entered its second round in Samba district amid visit of several senior government functionaries to their allotted Panchayats. They engaged with the local community and assessed the progress of the flagship programs.
The program’s primary objective is to amplify public outreach, facilitate public participation and gather valuable feedback to tailor government efforts towards delivering village-specific services.
The events were conducted across 58 Gram Panchayats of 4 Blocks namely Ghaghwal, Ramgarh, Vijaypur, Samba.
Senior officers including Director Handloom and Handicrafts, Vikas Gupta; MD, JKTPO Khalid Jahangir, Special secretary Culture Department, Trishala Kundal evaluated the progress of development works in the Panchayats.
The visiting officers inspected different government institutions, including schools, Anganwadi centers, Ration depots, health institutions, and Panchayat Ghars.
They also assessed ongoing and completed works under MGNREGA, Capex Budget, PMAY, SBM, among others.
In addition, they inaugurated important public assets and emphasized the importance of self-employment schemes. The officers actively reviewed the delivery of welfare schemes, service provision, and the punctuality of officials in the villages.
Director Handloom and Handicraft Dr. Vikas Gupta visited Panchayat Diani, Samba, where he held meetings with PRIs, representatives of various departments, and the general public. He also inspected stalls of Handloom department, School Education, ICDS, Ayushman Bharat, etc., and facilitated the issuance of land passbooks to respective landowners.
Managing Director JKTPO Khalid Jahangir inspected Amrit Sarovar in Panchayat Naran, listened to public grievances, visited Anganwadi centres and schools and distributed land passbooks to beneficiaries.
Special Secretary Trishila Kumari visited Panchayat Nanga, Block Ramgarh, to connect with PRI members and locals, attentively listening to their grievances. She also toured AYUSH HWC and Middle School Nanga.
