Secretary Tourism Dept reviews progress of projects being executed by CPWD

Leh, January 14: Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan chaired a meeting in his office chamber at Secretariat, Leh to review the status and progress of Projects/Works of Tourism and Culture Department being executed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).

At the outset, the Engineers/concerned officials of CPWD apprised the Secretary about the project-wise status of Kargil and Leh including the construction of SIHM, Culture Centre, Convention Centre, Tourist Reception Centres, Eco-Tourism Parks, Riverfronts, etc.

Secretary Khan instructed the Engineers of CPWD/officials to expedite the process of preparation of DPRs and submit requisition for funds at the earliest. He emphasised the importance of completion of DPRs, processing for approvals and tendering to be completed well before the working season starts. He also impressed upon the officials to prepare DPR of Library Leh as discussed. The Secretary also urged CPWD to work expeditiously so that these important projects do not get delayed.

The meeting was attended by Director, Tourism Department, Ladakh; Deputy Secretary, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Leh/Kargil; Executive Engineer, Leh/Kargil Project Zone/Division, CPWD, Ladakh; Assistant Director, Tourism Dept, Ladakh and other concerned officials.
