Secy H&ME reviews Tele-radiology services offered by Deptt
JAMMU, August 4: Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting to review Tele-radiology services offered by department at Civil Secretariat, here.
The meeting was attended by Director Health Services, Jammu/ Kashmir, Chief Medical Officers of all districts, Medical Superintendents of Associated Hospitals of new GMCs & District Hospitals, Block Medical Officers and Programme Managers of NHM.
During the meeting, the Secretary appreciated the services being rendered under Tele-radiology and issued directions to incorporate more health facilities under Tele-radiology for the benefit of patients in remote and far off areas. He also directed Chief Medical officers to submit list of health facilities to NHM where Tele-radiology services can be rolled out at the earliest.
The meeting was informed about the service rendered under Tele-radiology in UT of J&K. It was also given out that Tele-radiology services were started on 24th June 2020 in Jammu and Kashmir under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
The Secretary was further informed that at present Tele-radiology services are available at 61 Hospitals for X-Ray and 10 Hospitals for CT-Scan. It was also given out that since its launch nearly eight lakh X-Ray images and thirty thousand CT-Scan images have been reported which has tremendously helped in proving better patient care.
During the meeting, the importance of Tele-Radiology programme was highlighted at the outset as it helps to provide accessible and affordable Radiological Diagnostic Services at the Health facility near to the patient under free diagnostics programme of Government of India.
