SED Kupwara holds awareness program on drug abuse

KUPWARA, APRIL 19: As part of the nationwide campaign under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, School Education Department (SED) Kupwara today held a comprehensive program on drug abuse.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students from across different schools of the district. 

This initiative, aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society, was organized under the guidance of the District Administration in collaboration with the Department of Education.

The campaign saw the active involvement of hundreds of students who participated in a range of awareness activities including rallies, poster-making competitions, debates, and pledge-taking ceremonies.

One of the key highlights of the campaign was the large-scale registration of students and volunteers on the official Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan portal. Teachers, parents, and community members were also sensitized and encouraged to support the movement by pledging their support online.

Special workshops were also organized in several schools with support from local NGOs and health experts, focusing on the psychological, social, and legal consequences of substance abuse. These interactive sessions aimed to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to say no to drugs and support their peers in doing the same..
