Seminar on “Equal opportunities for men, women” organised at PSPS GCW Gandhinagar

JAMMU, February 20: The G-20 Club of PSPS Govt. College for Women Gandhinagar, Jammu, in collaboration with the Department of Education, under the charismatic leadership of Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college, organized a seminar on “Equal opportunities for men and women” in a series of activities going under the banner of G20 awareness.

The event started with a formal inaugural address by Dr. Rupinder Kour, Head of the Department of Education. In her address, she pointed out the need and importance of gender equality in different spheres of life.

The Principal, in her speech, acquainted the college girls about their rights and duties about their gender and of others. “A nation can progress and attain higher growth only when both men and women are entitled to equal opportunities.” She said, Prof. Neetu Raina, in her keynote address, explained the concept of Gender equality in depth. The proceedings of the event were carried out by Prof. Anupama Sharma. 

Mehakdeep Kour, Charu Attri ,  Kamini Sharma, Sheeraza, Aliya Qayum, Mehak and Nidhi Thakur ( President of The College)  delivered their extensive talk on legal, social, psychological  and educational background favouring Gender Equality.  

More than 100 students and other faculty members were present on the occasion.  For the smooth functioning of the event, Convener Prof. S.S. Parihar and members of G-20 put their handsome efforts. The event ended with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Ajaz Ahmad Lone.
