Senior producer of Doordarshan Zahid Manzoor passes away

SRINAGAR, June 15: Zahid Manzoor, senior producer of Doordarshan passed away after a brief illness in Mubarak Hospital, Srinagar on Thursday.

Zahid Manzoor Sahib began his career in 1974 as a Production Assistant at Doordarshan Srinagar and later served as a Producer and then Deputy Director in Doordarshan Kendras Srinagar, Jalandhar and Mumbai. During his service, he earned his reputation for making dozens of dramas, serials, documentaries and many other programmes. He quit his job and joined a private production house in Saudi Arabia. Later, Zahid Manzoor had worked with Take One for a long time as a production head. Zahid Sahib had access to every field of film and TV productions.

It is learnt that he was famous for his own style of filmmaking. All circles of film and television mourned his death which is a great loss to fraternity.

Meanwhile, all the employees of Doordarshan Srinagar expressed their grief over the untimely death of Zahid Manzoor and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant him a high place in Jannat al-Firdus and give courage to his family.
