Series of farmers’ orientation events held in Ramban District
RAMBAN, May 08: The 3rd phase of three day ongoing Farmer Orientation Programme ‘Kisan Sampark Abhiyan’ under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) was held across the district under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam.
All the stakeholders and other allied departments, besides PRIs and farmers participated in the programme.
People turned up in large numbers and were keen to learn about the schemes of HADP and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes as well. Audiovisuals (AVs) aids were used for disseminating the information at the grassroots level.
People were made aware regarding the schemes in vogue in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Sheep Husbandry,Fisheries and Horticulture.
District Nodal Officer, Dr. Suhail Kawoosa informed that the four-month-long programme is aimed at reaching out to farmers and educating them on the latest agricultural practices and technology.
The Subject Matter Specialists from Agriculture and allied departments briefed the farmers regarding the schemes.
Threadbare discussions and Question Answer sessions were held at every Panchayat. Informative booklets in three languages regarding the scheme of HADP were distributed among the participants.
Moreover, farmers were also made aware about Daksh Kisan (online learning portal for skill development) and Kisan Sathi (IT Dashboard) portals regarding the digitalisation of various services and schemes. As many as 345 farmers were registered during the first day event within the district.
The Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam urged the farmers to make the most of the available opportunities through training sessions and also called upon the concerned officers to acquaint the farmers with the latest trends besides quelling their doubts
