SHA, ABDM UT Ladakh jointly organize essay competition under Ayushman Pakhwada in Leh

Leh, September 26: To commemorate the 6th anniversary of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and the 3rd anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), State Health Agency (SHA), Ladakh, in collaboration with ABDM Ladakh organized an essay competition as part of Ayushman Pakhwada at Paras hall, Boys Higher Secondary School, leh today on September 26.

Students from various schools took part in the essay competition.

Key Features of PM-JAY

PM-JAY is world’s largest health insurance/ assurance scheme fully financed by the government.

It provides a cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India.

Over 12 crore poor and vulnerable entitled families (approximately 55 crore beneficiaries) are eligible for these benefits.

PM-JAY provides cashless access to health care services for the beneficiary at the point of service, that is, the hospital.

While,Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was launched on 15th August 2020 in six Union Territories, including Ladakh, to create a National Digital Health Ecosystem (NDHE). It provides citizens with a digital health ID for easy access to medical records. The mission was expanded nationwide on 27th September 2021, and ABDM Ladakh hired its specialists in January 2023.

The program at Paras Hall aimed to encourage students to express their thoughts on how AB-PMJAY and ABDM have impacted families and promotes access to quality health care services. Ayushman Pakhwada commenced on September 20th and will continue until September 30th, 2024.

Padma Yangdol from Govt.Girls Higher Secondary School Leh secured 1st position in the essay competition, while Stanzin Thakchok from middle school Gonpa bagged 2nd position and Rizwana Banoo from Govt.Middle school Leh bagged 3rd position.
