Shastri Judo Club celebrates World Judo Day

Udhay reiterates Club’s commitment to growth & promotion of Judo in J&K

JAMMU: Shastri Judo Club celebrated World Judo Day with great enthusiasm on the birthday of Prof Jigaro Kano, the founder of the game, during a programme held at Lower Roopnagar, Jammu.

On the occasion, Udhay Bhanu Chib, President of Shastri Judo Club was the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Udhay Bhanu Chib congratulated and commended the dedicated athletes of Shastri Judo Club who achieved remarkable success in the North India Zone Judo Competition. He emphasized the importance of not only the athletes’ hard work but also the unwavering support and pride shown by their parents. This support system is a cornerstone of young athletes’ success, and Udhay expressed his deep appreciation for the parents’ involvement.

The World Judo Day celebration at Shastri Judo Club included a variety of activities, such as demonstrations, speeches, and awards. The athletes of Shastri Judo Club put on a spectacular display of their skills and techniques, and the audience was thoroughly impressed.

Chib reiterated Shastri Judo Club’s commitment to the growth and promotion of Judo in the region. He said that the club is always looking for new ways to support and develop young athletes. He also encouraged parents to enroll their children in Judo classes, as the sport offers a number of benefits, including physical fitness, mental discipline, and self-confidence.

Udhay also extended his heartfelt gratitude to Romi Jamwal, Coach of Shastri Judo Club, as well as Vikas Gupta, Vice President of Judo Federation Indian, and Suraj Sharma, General Secretary of Judo Federation J&K.
