Sheetal Nanda convenes public darbar at Sgr; asks officers for prompt redressal of local issues

SRINAGAR, JUNE 27: Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda, on Thursday convened a public darbar at Srinagar here to assess and address the diverse issues and concerns faced by the local populace.


The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with representatives from various segments of society, civil society, various associations and other prominent citizens. The participants raised several grievances and demands concerning their respective areas and sought an early redressal of the same.


The delegations highlighted several issues including road infrastructure, accelerating pace of development under JJM, infrastructural development, augmentation of power supply, bolstering tourism, social welfare issues, issues to pertaining to education sector and other key developmental priorities specific to their constituencies.


Sheetal Nanda gave on spot directions to the officers to strictly adhere to stipulated norms and timelines for effective follow-up and redressal of public grievances.


The Commissioner Secretary, in her address, expressed gratitude to all the participants for their active engagement. She emphasized her commitment towards addressing the raised issues in alignment with the existing protocols and regulations.


The delegations expressed satisfaction over the government’s strategic approach of engaging Administrative Secretaries and other senior officers through these public outreach programs demonstrating a proactive stance in understanding and addressing the evolving needs and demands of the citizens. She said that no Government official can show any incompetence in working on grievances as the motive of starting this unique initiative of Public Darbar is ensuring immediate redressal of peoples grievances.


She further directed the concerned HoDs to popularise the initiatives and schemes of the government so that more and more people get benefitted.
