Short-Term Course on Modern Tunnelling Techniques starts at ITI Doda
DODA, APRIL 05: The Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Doda and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) have come together to organise a short-term course on Modern Tunnelling Techniques. The primary objective of this course is to upgrade the skills of young people and enable them to earn a sustainable livelihood after completing the training.
The 15-day course began today at the ITI campus and was inaugurated by Mohammad Ashraf Wani, DIO Doda and Nodal Officer of the District Skill Committee. Also present at the inauguration were Ravinder Bhatti, Superintendent of ITI Doda; Manujender Singh, MGNF for District Doda; and senior faculty from NHIDCL.
The course has been carefully designed by Ravinder Singh Bhatti, Superintendent of ITI, under the direct supervision of Vishesh Mahajan, Chairman of the District Skill Committee. It aims to enhance the employability of ITI and Polytechnic students at various developmental projects in the district.
Experts from NHIDCL will teach the course and provide practical exposure to students at work sites. Harjeet Singh from NHIDCL and Ashok Kumar, TL-Segmental, will train students on various aspects of tunnelling, bridges and highways.
A total of 40 students from ITI Doda and Polytechnic Doda have enrolled in the course. The training program will equip them with essential skills and knowledge to excel in their careers as tunnelling and highway construction professionals in Jammu and Kashmir.
