Significant improvement made in infrastructure upgradation across polling stations of Shopian

SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 15: In order to ensure optimal Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) across the polling stations of the district, as mandated by Election Commission of India (ECI), significant improvements in infrastructure development have been made by District Administration, Shopian.


The improvements have been made at various polling stations following the visit and corresponding observations of General Observer, Shopian AC, Roohi Khan to these polling stations and upon the instructions of DEO Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar.


During the inspection, the Observer had observed the need for improvements with particular focus on the significance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in and around the polling stations.


Upon the directions of DEO Shopian, local administration swung into swift action and made the required upgrades in record time.


Installation of permanent signages, repairs of roads and ramps, construction of pathways, shades, water points, boundary walls, at these polling stations among other facilities was made, to improve accessibility of voters and polling staff alike with particular focus on facilitation of PwDs and old aged voters.


These polling stations where improvements were made include Nazneenpora, Nagbal, Zampathri, Dunaroo, Berthipora A, Batmuran, Nasarpora, Mastpora,Wanpora among others.


With enhanced facilities and a commitment to voter comfort, the residents of Shopian look forward to a positive, well-organized electoral experience, further encouraging active participation in the democratic process.
