“The demise of Sitaram Yechury has left everyone in deep sorrow. His ability to understand and connect with people from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds was remarkable…Yechury played a decisive role in several major movements in the country. He had a unique ability to comprehend the broader picture of the nation, and his contributions were pivotal in movements like the farmers’ protests,” said CM Vijayan while addressing the memorial meeting held for late CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury.
“From his youth, Yechury’s leadership skills were widely recognized, and he emerged as a beloved figure among the public, growing from a student leader into a respected public servant…Yechury was one of the leading intellectuals of our time and a key figure in maintaining Left unity. His loss is particularly significant in the current political climate of India. It is not only a great loss for the CPI(M) but also the global communist movement.
