Skill training of Aapda Mitras’ 7th batch concludes with valedictory function
JAMMU, JANUARY 06: The skill up-gradation training of 7th batch of “Aapda Mitras”, comprising 152 volunteers, held under the Government of India sponsored “Upscaling of Aapda Mitra” Scheme concluded today with an impressive Valedictory Function here at SDRF Bn. HQ Gandhi Nagar.
The event witnessed demonstrations on fire-fighting, flood rope crossing, rappelling, climbing & rescue from higher buildings.
Speaking on this occasion, Randheer Singh, SSP I/C Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu, elaborated that during the 12 day in-house training the volunteers were sensitized about different aspects of Disaster Management techniques including Water Rescue (River Chenab Akhnoor) and Mountaineering Rescue training at Samba by experts from J&K Police MRT, Fire & Emergency Services Department and resource persons from SDRF.
During the training, special guest lectures were also delivered by eminent faculty Dr. S.K. Pandita, (Sr.Faculty) University of Jammu and Dr. Ranbushan Singh, (First Aid Expert) Member Red Cross Society.
On the occasion, Ashok Sharma, Dy.SP Principal CTI HG,CD Jammu highlighted activities undergone by the batch and also appreciated all the trainees for their active participation and involvement in this training process.
Among others, Arvinder Kotwal, Dy.SP, Anita Pawar, Dy.SP, Daljit Singh, Dy.SP, Mohinder Paul, Dy.SP, Rajesh Sharma, Dy. SP, Inspector, Vishal Dubey were also present on the occasion.
