SMDA celebrates Baisakhi festival at Mansar

UDHAMPUR, April 13: To promote Tourism in General and  cultural and heritage Tourism of the J&K UT in particular, the Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority, in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism, Jammu and District Administration celebrated Baisakhi Festival at Mansar here today.

The main highlights of the festival were Punjabi Bhangra, Gojri, Pahari Dances, Dogri dances, Punjabi Songs and Punjabi Folk by the Artists of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages, Jammu and Folk Music by Ms Rinku- a local Folk Singer.

An Exhibition exhibiting the sale counters by Handloom and Handicraft Department, Industries Department, Tourism Publicity Counter and local Ethnic Food Stalls etc was another highlight of the event.

The function was inaugurated by lighting of the traditional lamp by Dina Nath, Chairman BDC Majalta; Amit Sharma, DDC member; Sunita Devi Sarpanch panchayat halqa Mansar and Showkat Ahmed sarpanch panchayat Halqa Pati Bari Garh  in presence of Ved Parkash  CEO, SMDA and other officers of Surinsar Mansar Development Authority, different Departments and Panches of the Mansar/surrounding Panchayats.

The Cultural Programme was witnessed by tourists of different states, local tourists of the state and local visitors.
