SMVDU and JKEDI Join Hands to Promote Entrepreneurship and Innovation
In a significant move to bolster the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra and Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was signed by Sh. Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS), Director of JKEDI, and Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma (JKAS), Registrar, SMVDU in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU. The MoU focuses on fostering collaboration between the two institutions in areas such as incubation, entrepreneurship, skill-based training, education, research, and the promotion of an innovation-driven culture. The partnership aims to create opportunities for students and aspiring entrepreneurs through initiatives like curriculum development, industrial training, internships, research, and skill development programs. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of senior officials and dignitaries, including Deans and HoD’s of different Schools/Sections of SMVDU, Sh. Neeraj Gupta, Finance Officer (JKAS), Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO of SMVDU Technology Business Incubation Center (TBIC). Other notable attendees included Dr. Vinod Kumar, Incharge CNEC, Sh. Abhilash Braroo, DNO Reasi, and Sh. Sorab Mengi, Assistant Manager, CIIBM along with the members of the SMVDU TBIC managing committee. This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in nurturing entrepreneurial talent and driving innovation in the region. Both institutions have expressed their commitment to working together to build a dynamic startup ecosystem and provide a platform for young innovators to excel.
