SMVDU NCC Coordinator Participates in Aero India 2025 at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru

Dr. Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator, SMVDU had the distinguished opportunity to participate in Aero India 2025, held at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru. The prestigious airshow witnessed participation from more than 27 countries, including the USA, Russia, Australia, France, and Sweden, showcasing cutting-edge aviation technology and aircraft. For the first time in history, the USA’s F-35A and Russia’s Su-57E stealth fighter jets were showcased together anywhere in the world. This historic moment marked the convergence of two of the world’s most advanced fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) on the same tarmac.

Additionally, India unveiled a full-scale model of its first 5th-generation stealth aircraft, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), equipped with state-of-the-art features. Aero India 2025 saw the participation of 930 exhibitors from across the globe, including over 100 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The CEOs Roundtable, comprising 55 industry leaders from 19 countries, provided a platform for collaboration and discussions on the future of aerospace and defense technology.

The airshow, inaugurated by Defence Minister Sh. Rajnath Singh, attracted Defence Ministers and representatives from about 30 countries, along with Air Chiefs and Secretaries from 43 nations, further underscoring its international significance. During the event, Dr. Varun Dutta had the privilege of interacting with Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh. He also engaged with pilots and ground crew members from the renowned Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, as well as aviation experts from the USA, Russia, and Sweden.

A highlight of his visit was experiencing flight simulations of the Su-30MKI, Su-57E, and SAAB Gripen aircraft. The concluding day of Aero India 2025 featured a breathtaking flying display, including aircraft such as the KC-135 Stratotanker, Light Utility Helicopter, Su-30MKI, F-16, Hansa, HTT-40, IJT, FBT, LCA Mk-1A, and a spectacular performance by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team.

In addition to attending the airshow, Dr. Varun Dutta visited the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) in Bengaluru, where he interacted with Indian Air Force officers and officials from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). ASTE plays a crucial role in flight testing airborne systems developed by organizations such as DRDO and HAL for the Indian Air Force. Dr. Varun Dutta expressed his gratitude to SMVDU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, and Registrar, Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma (JKAS), for providing him with the opportunity to witness Asia’s largest aviation event and engage with global aerospace experts.
