SMVDU Students Shine at Vishwakarma Awards
In a remarkable achievement, a team of students from School of mechanical engineering secured the 11th position out of 600 teams at the prestigious Vishwakarma Awards 2024. Organized by Maker Bhavan in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad, the competition focused on innovative solutions under the theme of “Clean and Green Technology.” The SMVDU team showcased their ingenuity with a groundbreaking invention—a non-electric automatic pothole-filling machine.
This eco-friendly innovation addresses a critical challenge in infrastructure maintenance by providing a sustainable and efficient solution for repairing potholes. The team was led by V. Yash Raj and comprised Saatwik Sharma, Sahaj Pratap Singh, and Zafir Ashraf Beigh. Their project was guided by Dr. Sanjay Mohan, whose mentorship played a crucial role in refining their design and execution.
The Vishwakarma Awards are renowned for recognizing talent and promoting sustainable development through innovative technology. Competing against a diverse pool of teams, the SMVDU students stood out for their practical approach and commitment to environmental sustainability.
