SMVDU-TBIC Team and Students Participate in BRICS Youth CouncilEntrepreneurship Run-Up event at IIM Jammu
The “BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Run-Up event” organized by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at IIM Jammu. It saw the active participation of 50 members from SMVDU, including faculty and students from various disciplines.
The event was inaugurated by Sh. Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, with Sh. Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, serving as the Guest of Honour. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, was also present during the inauguration ceremony. A major highlight of the event was the Innovation Showcase, where various startups presented their groundbreaking products. Among them, SMVDU students Anas Ibni Ali Wani and Dewang Khajuria from the School of Architecture and Landscape Design showcased their innovative project addressing the pressing issue of stubble burning. Their patented solution involves a Pyrolyser machine that uses a pyrolysis process to convert agricultural stubble into biochar, which is then used to create eco-friendly construction tiles.
This sustainable innovation aims to tackle air pollution, reduce stubble waste, and offer a green alternative for the construction industry. Anas also participated in the Pitch Deck Competition at IIM Jammu, delivering an impressive presentation to a panel of experts and receiving recognition for his creative solution. The participation of SMVDU students was made possible by the SMVDU-TBIC team, which included Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO of SMVDU-TBIC, Ms. Divye Duheta, Manager of SMVDU-TBIC, and faculty members Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Dr. Prabhu Omer. The team also extended their gratitude to Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU, for his encouragement and unwavering support. This event marked a significant step in empowering young minds to address global challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions.
