Social Welfare Deptt B’pora rebuts news item ‘Denial of Motorized Tricycle to an Applicant from District Bandipora’
Says, the person is not eligible as per the scheme guidelines
BANDIPORA, MARCH 22: The Social Welfare Department Bandipora has issued clarification regarding news item titled ‘Man from Bandipora alleged he was asked for bribe to allot scooty as he is handicapped’ carried by Early times on facebook and ‘Specially Abled Man from Bandipora Protests in Srinagar, Alleges Administration Failed to Provide Promised Scooty Despite Formalities’ carried by Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) on “X” (Twitter)
In a statement issued, the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Bandipora clarified that the applicant is not eligible for Motorized Tricycle as per the scheme guidelines. The applicant’s age is above 51 years and as per the scheme guidelines age should be between 18-50 Years. This is out rightly clear from the date of Birth issued by station House Officer, Sumbal vide No.: 280/M, dated: 28-09-2022 and Disability Certificate issued by Medical Board.
As per statement of DSWO Bandipora, it is further clarified that the applicant visited the office of DSWO Bandipora three months ago and has been clearly told that he is not eligible as per the scheme guidelines.
