Sopore police arrest drug peddler, seize large cache of psychotropic substances
In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, Sopore Police executed a well-coordinated raid resulting in the arrest of Muhammad Altaf Dar, a resident of Mumkak, Sopore, for possession of psychotropic substances.
The raid, conducted under the leadership of Station House Officer (SHO) PS Sopore, saw the recovery of a substantial quantity of narcotics from the accused’s residence.

Following a specific tip-off, Police Station Sopore initiated Case FIR No. 50/2024 under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sopore, Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, a meticulously planned operation unfolded, culminating in the apprehension of the accused.
During the search, police recovered a large quantity of psychotropic substances, including 1632 capsules of Spasmoproxmax Plus (68 strips) and 384 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon Plus (16 strips). Dar was promptly arrested and is currently in police custody.
