Special campaign held for Summary Revision to facilitate Kashmiri migrants

JAMMU, JULY 23: In order to facilitate the electoral participation of Kashmiri migrants, special camps were organised for the Pre-Revision Activities and Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls as of July 1, 2024. These camps were set up across various cities in India, including Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, New Delhi, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Pune, Hyderabad and Mumbai.


A dedicated team comprising eight officers and 16 officials, constituted by Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), J&K, executed these camps in line with the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K. The initiative saw a significant turnout, with over 1,200 forms received on the spot.
Alongside the summary revision, awareness about various government schemes was disseminated. Notably, around 850 cards were generated under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.


Within the Union Territory of J&K, teams of Zonal Officers, Relief Assistants and Booth Level Officers were tasked with conducting pre-revision activities and the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, as per the schedule notified by the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K. These teams will be available at their respective stations on special campaign dates, namely July 27, July 28, August 3 and August 4, 2024, to address any issues regarding the revision of the electoral roll.
