Special Camps for enrolment of prospective voters organised at polling stations across Ramban district

RAMBAN, November 04:  The District Election Department Ramban today organized Special Camps at all polling stations for registration of the eligible youth, who have  attained the age of 18 years or more as  voters so that no eligible voter is left without registration.

The Election Commission of India has devised a plan for organizing Special Camps at Polling Stations on November, 4, 5, 18 and 19.

The main objective of organising these camps was to focus on registration of  all eligible youth as voters in the district. The Booth Level Officers shall remain present at their respective Polling Stations to receive claims and objections with regard to registration as voters during the Special camps.

The application with regard to correction in particulars of voters, if any, and objections against any wrong inclusion in the electoral roll may also be submitted during the Special camps.

The initiative shall go a long way in formulating the healthy and error free electoral rolls. During the camps, besides distribution and collection of filled forms, the concerned officials also delivered lectures and sensitized the prospective voters about the importance of votes and right to franchise.
