New Delhi [India], August 5 (ANI): The Special Cell of the Delhi Police in Dwarka arrested two inter-state traffickers on Monday, making a recovery of six country-made pistols and 12 live cartridges from them.
The accused have been identified as Ajrudeen alias Ajru PS-Bichhor (32) and Mohammad Rashid (28), both residents of Punhana.
The Special Cell had received inputs that Rashid would be carrying illegal arms and ammunition and visiting Shyam Vihar near the Dwarka Expressway. Based on this secret input, a raiding party was constituted on July 25.
A trap was laid at the place of information and in the late hours at the instance of the informer, Rashid was immediately overpowered by the dedicated team.
One illegal country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from Rashid’s possession. On questioning, Rashid disclosed that he had procured the recovered weapons from an arms dealer Ajrudeen the day before.
He further confessed that he had to deliver these weapons at Jai Vihar Najafgarh to an individual named Rohit, a known of Ajrudeen.
An FIR was filed immediately by Police Superintendent Chawla and an investigation was taken up.
Raids were conducted at Nuh in Haryana. Continuous efforts by the team helped arrest the main accused Ajrudeen on July 30.
Five country-made pistols, 10 live cartridges and a stolen motorcycle used for transportation of the illegal firearms were recovered from Ajrudeen.
The accused had studied up to 12th class and later joined his family business. While making visits to Delhi, he befriended Rohit, a resident of Najafgarh, who had asked Ajrudeen to supply illicit weapons to him in lieu of good profit and introduced him telephonically to Ashif, a weapon supplier based in Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
The accused Ajrudeen and his associates were arrested by the Nuh Police when he received an amount in his bank account from multiple job seekers by luring them to provide jobs.
He was also arrested by Rajasthan Police when he was found carrying illegal weapons.
