Special Gram Sabhas held across the district Anantnag
ANANTNAG, April 10: Special Gram Sabhas were held through out the length and breadth of district Anantnag in all its 335 panchayat halqas along with other districts of the UT as an extra ordinary step to ensure convergence of various government schemes executed by different departments at panchayat level with the consent of general public so as to ensure all round development in a transparent manner.
Furthermore, it is a step towards theme based budgeting which aims to achieve sustainable development goals envisaged by UNO and perused by GOI and nine themes to be achieved by 2030 by all Panchayats.
District Development Commissioner, Dr Basharat Qayoom oversaw the programme and ensured its smooth conduct in the district. People in good numbers participated and put forth their demands before their respective Prabhari Officers, in who’s presence Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) has been given final shape and approved for implementation/ execution in the current financial year.
Official from all other line departments also participated in the programme. Additional Deputy commissioner S.M Ashraf visited the panchayat halqas Sofigund , Semthan of block Anantnag and Bijbehara. The representatives of the concerned departments were present in the gram sabhas and the people discussed the further plans of their concerned panchayats.
ADC while speaking on the occasion said that the programme is being organised to pan the panchayat plans as per the desire of the people and as per the primary requisition of the public.
People on the occasion put some demands and issues before the ADC which were addressed at spot. They also appreciated the district administration for holding special Grams shabas.
ACD who was accompanying ADC also briefed the public about the activities carried by the RDD department and the achievements gained so far.
