Special Lok Adalat held at Kulgam
Awareness programme regarding ADR Mechanism & holding of Lok Adalats also held
KULGAM, MARCH 24: A Special Lok Adalat for MACT Cases was today held in District Court Complex Kulgam under the chairmanship of Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Kulgam.
During the Lok Adalat, one bench was constituted that took up 10 cases related to Motor Accident Claims, out of which 01 case titled as Mst. Sareena Akhter Versus Shabir Ahmad Tantray was amicably settled, in which an amount of Rs.78,00,000/- (Seventy Lakhs) was disbursed.
It is apt to note here that the deceased in the above titled case was working in the Rural Development Department and is survived by an old aged father, three minor children and a widow.
The remaining cases are also in process of settlement which would be taken up in due course.
Alongside the said Lok Adalat, an awareness programme regarding the ADR Mechanism and holding of Lok Adalats was held at District Court Complex Kulgam.
The programme was attended by Panel Lawyers, persons from media fraternity, PLVs and many litigants and common people.
