Special Training on NMBA program held at different blocks of Budgam
BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 16: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Budgam and One Stop Centre Budgam held a series of training programmes under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) at Block Budgam, Beerwah, B.K.Pora and Chadoora
The events, held from 10th to 15th February, brought together a diverse group of participants, including supervisors, SHG (NRLM) members, and health workers. This collaborative initiative aimed to build capacity and enhance awareness regarding the vital Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.
Participants were engaged in meaningful discussions and interactive sessions, fostering a deep understanding of the initiative’s goals. The focus was on equipping supervisors, AWWs ASHA Workers, community Mobilizers (SHG-NRLM) with the necessary knowledge and skills to actively contribute to the success of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.
Resource persons, including Afroza Bhat (DMC DHEW) delivered a speech on NMBA, providing major information regarding the rise of drug abuse and awareness.
Shafiqa, Psychiatric Counselor OSC addressed the gathering on gender-based violence, domestic violence and also raised awareness on detrimental effects of drug abuse. She also elaborated various steps to combat such abuse through rehabilitation centres and ATFs available in the district.
DHEW-Mission Shakti Budgam remains steadfast in its commitment to positively impact women’s lives. This sensitization program serves as a testament to their dedication. By empowering key stakeholders, the mission seeks to amplify the reach and effectiveness of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan initiative.
