Srinagar Food Safety Department takes cognizance of viral video
SRINAGAR JUNE 03:- Taking cognizance of a viral video went on Facebook regarding bread with fungal growth and without manufacturing and expiry date, a team of Food Safety Department headed by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety designated Officer Srinagar on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad carried out investigation and lifted four samples from the concerned Bakery shop.
The team took 2 samples of bread and one sample of sweets and chicken Patties for analytical purposes.
Also a Challan under Insanitary condition /not maintaining food items at recommended temperature control and wrong storage practices will be submitted before Adjudicating Office Srinagar.
Meanwhile, Bakery Unit holders of the District have been asked to refrain from selling bread with out batch No. and use by Date otherwise strict action under Food Safety & Standards Act 2006 shall be initiated against the defaulters. Besides, use of PPE should be in place in all Bakery outlet’s/ Fast food centers/Restaurant/Dhabas and Kiosks, in addition to the use of Hand Gloves/Head Gear and Appron are mandatory under FSSA.
