SSR 2023: Second spree of special camps held across Kathua
Kathua Admin ropes in Booth Level Agents of Political Parties for Error-Free Electoral Rolls
KATHUA, April 15: Under the ongoing SSR (Special Summary Revision), the district administration Kathua today organized special camp at all designated polling stations. This is a part of the revision of the electoral rolls being conducted to include new voters and make amendments to the epic of the old voters.
EROs and AEROs, visited various polling booths to oversee the Summary Revision process besides officers dispensed requisite forms to new voters and encouraged them to register themselves and their peers who have attained eligible age as of April 1st.
The district election office has already directed Booth Level Officers to work with utmost dedication and caution in registering new voters, correcting and deleting any errors and identifying and marking Persons with Disabilities in the electoral register to avoid inconvenience in the future.
The district administration has also taken a significant step towards ensuring error-free electoral rolls by roping in Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of political parties in the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.
The Kathua administration has initiated a comprehensive program to ensure that the electoral rolls are free of errors and omissions. As part of this program, the administration has collaborated & engaged booth level agents of political parties as part of the SVEEP program.
The booth level agents have been trained and provided with guidance by the Election Cell on how to receive and scrutinize the electoral rolls. The agents have been instructed to verify the details of voters in their respective booths and make necessary corrections in the electoral rolls.
The initiative aims to ensure that the electoral rolls are accurate and free of errors, thereby facilitating a transparent and efficient electoral process. The collaboration between the administration and the BLAs is expected to boost voter awareness and encourage ethical voting practices.
Meanwhile SVEEP Van today visited Kandi block Dinga-amb to educate masses about the essence of vote and quintessential role of citizens in electing their representatives without any bias. The SVEEP program has always been at the forefront of promoting voter education and awareness, and the collaboration with the BLAs is a significant step towards ensuring error-free electoral rolls. The program encourages all voters to actively participate in the electoral process and exercise their democratic rights.
The Kathua administration has expressed confidence in the success of the initiative and is committed to making the electoral process transparent and efficient.
