Strengthening grassroots democracy necessary for development: Sat Sharma
Sat Sharma, Veenu Khanna, Tilak Gupta listen to the public grievances at BJP headquarter
JAMMU, Jan 07: Strengthening grassroots level democracy is necessary for development and every BJP worker is following party line to understand the issues and the grievances of the people at the micro level to achieve the aim, stated Sat Sharma, former J&K BJP President & former Cabinet Minister.
Accompanied by J&K BJP Secretary Veenu Khanna and Office Secretary Tilak Raj Gupta, Sat Sharma was listening to the public grievances at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
“It is important for a leader to understand people’s problems and take it forward as an agenda while attaining political maturity which would be helpful in the long run. BJP understands that strengthening grassroots level democracy is necessary for development and every BJP worker is following party line to understand the issues and the grievances of the people at the micro level to achieve the aim,” said Sat Sharma while listening to the issues and grievances put forth by the masses visiting the party office.
Numerous individuals and deputations from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir visited the party office to state various issues of their respective areas as well as their individual concerns before the senior party leadership.
Main issues presented in the camp related to the lanes, drains, macadamisation, street lights, revenue etc.
A deputation demanded construction of a road from Chadwal to Mangloor. Another deputation raised demand for cleaning of deep drains near Science College. One deputation complained of poor water supply near Cooperative School, Rehari.
Listening patiently to the various issues represented by these deputations, Sat Sharma telephonically talked to the concerned departmental officials and issued letters for the others.
Speaking on the occasion, Veenu Khanna said that they have made their best efforts to listen to the issues put forth and provide possible solutions to them. Tilak Raj Gupta coordinated the proceedings and diarized the issues presented while listening to the grievances.
