Successful Jammu Bandh should be taken as eye opener by Govt: Rattan Lal
‘Accept all demands or else be prepared to face the consequences’
JAMMU, AUG 26: Rattan Lal Gupta, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Provincial President Jammu while terming today’s Jammu Bandh as completely successful has said that anguished by the anti people policies adopted by Union Govt’s proxy Govt in J&K the people are anxiously waiting the elections to teach the Saffron party a lesson.
Mr Rattan Lal Gupta stated this while addressing the protesting NC activists during a protest held under his chairmanship at Residency Road here today. The protestors were demanding removal of Sarore Toll Plaza, Stop installation of smart meters/ Prepaid meters and release of all those detained protesters unconditional withdraw all cases against the protesters.
Speaking on the occasion the senior National Conference leader asserted that the incumbent BJP Govt at the Centre and the J&K UT Administration have crossed all limits in going ahead with atrocious anti-people policies. He said that people fed up with this unacceptable approach and attitude of the Administration. Mr Gupta asserted that people of J&K will no more tolerate such policies and approach.
Rattan Lal said that National Conference is people-centric political party that believes in respecting the aspirations of the common people. He assured that NC will always remain on forefront whenever there is any issue pertaining to the cause of the people of Jammu. He said that only NC is the secular party in J&K and has an outstanding record of addressing the concerns of the people of Jammu especially when in governance in the erstwhile State of J&K.
The senior NC leader said that today’s successful protest should serve as an eye opener for the government and it should without any second thought fulfill the demands of the people pertaining to the burning issues including Toll Plaza at Sarore, Smart Meters and release of all detained people during protest. He warned that in case the Govt fails to accept the aforesaid demands at the earliest then people of Jammu will launch a massive agitation across the region and the Govt shall be wholly and solely responsible for the consequences thereof which under no circumstances would be good.
Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former minister and Central Secretary while condemning the atrocities committed by police on the peaceful protestors. He demanded the immediate release of the detained protestors and withdrawing of all the cases registered against them. He said that the people of Jammu are already on roads demanding the abolition of Sarore Toll Plaza and stopping of Smart Meters installation.
