“Suchita Sangram” witnessed significant cleanliness drive at DC Office Complex Kishtwar

MC spearheaded door-to-door sensitization program in Ward 10

KISHTWAR, AUGUST 5: Under the Swachhta Pakhwada initiative in District Kishtwar a significant cleanliness drive and signature campaign were organized today at the DC Office Complex in Kishtwar under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav.

ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh accompanied by CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali and tens of other staff members of the DC office complex participated in the Swachhta drive.
The drive involved thorough cleaning and proper disposal of litter and clearing the weeds and bushes around the offices.

Officials participated in the signature campaign to promote cleanliness habits were sensitized by ACD Kishtwar about the importance of not throwing office litter out of windows and ensuring proper disposal of e-waste and other waste.

Meanwhile, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar Amit Choudhary spearheaded a door-to-door sensitization program in Ward Number 10, emphasizing waste segregation and the dangers of open dumping. Additionally, the cleaning of drains is ongoing in various wards, with intensified announcements and challans issued for improper waste disposal in Kishtwar urban.

A Swachhta pledge and cleanliness activities were conducted at the Ayush Health and Wellness Center in Kishtwar.

In rural areas, the campaign was intensified with the collaborative efforts of Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Department of Education, other stakeholders and through Community participation.

In the Filler B Panchayat of Block Thakraie, a cleanliness drive and signature campaign were carried out under the close guidance of the RDD officials and local youth.
Educational institutions across the district also engaged in various activities to celebrate Swachhta Pakhwada. Girls HSS Kishtwar, HSS Trigam, HSS Chatroo, and HSS Paddar organized quiz competitions on the theme of plastic waste management, with students being felicitated for their participation.

Noteworthy events included a painting competition at Shaheed Manhori Lal GMS Shiroti, Drabshalla, and Little Angel Academy High School Kishtwar. Other activities such as plantation drives, rallies, debates, and cleanliness drives were held at HSS Ligri Paddar, HS Shana Thaktei, and HS Damber. A rally at MS Boys Sarkoot and a signature campaign at GMS Bhoop Nagar were also organized under the guidance of the respective headmasters.

The day also featured a Nukkad Natak on Swachh Bharat and a plantation drive at HS Dadpeth, along with slogan writing and poster-making competitions at GMS Panditgam and KGBV Kishtwar.
