Surbhi Sharma Awarded Ph.D. by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University
REASI, December 24: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is pleased to announce that Surbhi Sharma has been conferred with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). She successfully defended her research work on the topic “Locating Black Feminist Standpoint in Autobiography: An Inquiry into the Experiences of Maya Angelou”. Sharma’s groundbreaking research provides critical insights into the experiences and narratives of the renowned African-American author and activist Maya Angelou, exploring them through the lens of Black feminist theory. Her work significantly contributes to the fields of literary studies and feminist discourse.
The research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Anurag Kumar and co-supervision of Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi. Their guidance and expertise played a pivotal role in the successful completion of the thesis. Surbhi Sharma was formally congratulated by Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, along with other members of the committee.
