SVEEP activities held across Baramulla to maximize Participation for Assembly Elections
BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 7: As part of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024, the District Administration of Baramulla conducted a series of voter awareness activities across all the seven constituencies in the district.
These activities, held under the umbrella of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, aimed at raising voter awareness and encouraging maximum participation in the electoral process.
The initiatives, designed to foster a sense of civic responsibility among citizens, focused on both environmental consciousness and active civic engagement.
As part of the Green Election Initiative, plantation drives were conducted across the district, witnessing widespread participation from locals, youth groups, students, and public officials, who planted hundreds of saplings in various areas. This initiative emphasized the theme of ‘Green Voting,’ urging voters to not only participate in the democratic process but also contribute to environmental sustainability.
Meanwhile, pledge-taking ceremonies were held across all 7 assembly constituencies, where enthusiastic citizens took a solemn pledge to vote in the forthcoming elections, demonstrating a collective commitment to the democratic process.
To engage the youth and new voters, a series of sporting activities were also organised across various schools and colleges, incorporating special focus on voting awareness messages during these events, with banners, posters, and information desks set up to inform the younger generation about the importance of their vote.
The district administration has expressed its commitment to conducting a free, fair, and transparent election process, and the SVEEP activities are a critical component of these efforts to ensure informed voters participate in the electoral process.
