SVEEP: Activities to raise awareness on importance of vote held at various Schools in Kupwara
KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 17: In compliance with the directions of the District Election Officer, Kupwara, a series of activities under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) were today held across various schools in Kupwara.
These activities were part of the ongoing efforts to promote voter awareness ahead of key electoral events in the region.
The SVEEP activities were conducted at BHSS Haril, Boys High School Trehgam, Boys High School Diver and Boys High School Awoora. The events witnessed active engagement from students, teachers, and members of the local community, highlighting the importance of education and participation in the democratic process.
The District Nodal Officer for SVEEP, while addressing participants at the events, underscored the need for first-time voters to come forward and take part in the electoral process. The officer reaffirmed that the SVEEP campaign remains committed to reaching out to all segments of society, ensuring that voters, especially the younger generation, are empowered to make informed choices in the upcoming elections.
The programmes held at various schools were designed to be both educational and engaging, featuring a variety of activities that emphasized civic responsibility. Among the notable activities were cultural performances that depicted the democratic process and its significance in a vibrant and diverse country like India. Through skits, music, and art, students creatively showcased the importance of voting and how it shapes governance.
Furthermore, plantation drives were organized as part of the programme’s broader theme of community responsibility. At Boys High School Trehgam, Higher Secondary School Haril, High School Diver, and High School Awoora, saplings were planted with the message of sustainability and growth, symbolizing how voter participation can lead to a flourishing democracy.
