SVEEP awareness campaign conducted at Diskit Nubra

Leh, April 30, 2024: SVEEP Team Ladakh conducted a SVEEP awareness campaign at Lamdon High Secondary School, Diskit Nubra on April 29.

The AERO of Deskit Nubra, Tufail Iqbal provided a warm welcome to the SVEEP team. State Nodal Officer, Ladakh, SVEEP team, Tsewang Morup gave a brief introduction to the villagers/voters about State Icon, Phunchok Ladakhi and District Icon, Stanzin Dorjey Gya and informed them about the roles and responsibilities during the elections.He explained the objectives of systematic voters’ education and electoral participation.

Further, he stressed that SVEEP is a multi-intervention programme to reinforce the voter education and electoral participation. SVEEP primary goal is to build a participative democracy in India by encouraging all the eligible citizens to register and vote for their suitable candidate.

District Icon, Stanzin Dorjey Gya underlined that each vote counts and every voice matters therefore it is important to cast every vote on May 20. State Icon, Phunchok Ladakhi entertained the audience by acting and singing election songs of UT Ladakh which will be released soon by CEO Ladakh. He highlighted the importance of SVEEP campaign which help in increasing awareness among the public.

In the end, Tufail Iqbal also appealed the public to cast their precious vote on May 20 and become a part of the largest democracy in the world.

SVEEP team distributed keychains, T shirts to the BLOs and the participants. All the BLOs and the voters of Diskit village were present on the occasion.
