SVEEP Awareness programme organized at Pink Polling Station, Yaripora

KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 02: As part of the ongoing efforts to promote voter awareness and encourage greater participation in the electoral process, a special awareness programme under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organized today at the Pink Polling Station in Yaripora.

Nodal officer SVEEP, Nazia Hassan said that the programme aimed to educate and sensitize voters, particularly women, about the importance of exercising their democratic right to vote.

During the programme, emphasis was placed on the significance of voting in a democracy and the impact every vote can have in shaping the future of the nation.

Participants were also informed about the various initiatives and facilities provided to make the voting process more accessible, such as the establishment of Pink Polling Stations designed to offer a more comfortable voting environment for women.

Multiple cultural activities and a mehandi competition also marked the event.

The SVEEP initiative aims to create a more inclusive and participatory electoral process by ensuring that every eligible voter is informed and empowered to cast their vote.
