Debates, Symposiums & Nukkad Nataks among other activities being held to mobilize masses
KISHTWAR,, May 03: District Administration Kishtwar, under the aegis of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Dr Devansh Yadav, has conducted a series of awareness activities across the district under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme to spread awareness about ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls (SSR).
During the mega awareness events being held in all the three assembly Constituencies of the district, hundreds of students, staff, PRIs, and the general public took part in the SVEEP activities. The election department enrolled scores of eligible electors who have attained the age of 18 years as on April 1, 2023. The SVEEP activities including symposiums, debates, rangoli competitions, rallies in colleges and other educational institutions are in progress in the district to educate youth, women and PwDs about the revision process.
The Nukkad Nataks are attracting a huge number of youth wherein a professional team is sensitising the masses especially youth and women to get registered during this ongoing SSR.
Besides encouraging registrations, the existing electors are being encouraged by the Nukkad Natak team to verify their particulars with regard to their name, address and age.
The public is being encouraged to get registered through online mode which is simple as electors need not to travel to ERO/AERO/BLO offices for the same. The awareness about online portals of Election Commission of India like www.nvsp.in and Voter Helpline app is also being spread among the public and youth.
A Mobile Van equipped with an audio System and relevant forms like Form-6 etc is also campaigning across the three assembly constituencies the district to generate awareness among public and give a message of voter registration and its importance.
