SVEEP Cell steps up voter awareness in AC 68 Hiranagar

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 07: In continuation of voter awareness activities under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, AC 68 Hiranagar witnessed a series of impactful programs today, engaging citizens and promoting voter participation in the upcoming assembly elections.

Young ambassadors from Government High School (GHS) Gurah Sattura took the lead by organizing an election quiz, an awareness rally, and a skit highlighting the importance of voting. These creative activities sought to encourage voter engagement and remind the public of their civic duty in sustaining democracy.

At Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sallan, students applied henna tattoos as a unique way to spread awareness about the upcoming elections, inspiring all eligible voters to exercise their right to vote.

Meanwhile, students at GHS Mela showcased their artistic talents by participating in painting and poster-making activities aimed at sensitizing the community about voter participation.

In a symbolic gesture, GHS Chadwal introduced a “Tree of Democracy” in their school premises, symbolizing the deep-rooted values of democracy and the importance of nurturing these principles in the younger generation.

Later in the day, the Booth Awareness Group (BAG) teams from Sattura and Gurah displayed voting day messages on walls throughout the community to remind residents about the election scheduled for 1st October 2024.

A SVEEP walk was organized in the wards of Satura Panchayat, where team members knocked on doors to personally deliver messages about Election Day. Special efforts were made to engage women voters, ensuring that everyone is informed and prepared for the upcoming elections.

These programs being carried out under AC Nodal Officer SVEEP Priya Lakshmi (CDPO Hiranagar) reflect the ongoing commitment to foster informed and active voter participation across all segments of society, ensuring a stronger democratic process.
