SVEEP drive heightens voter engagement across district Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 12: In the lead-up to the Assembly Elections, the District Election Office Kishtwar, under the leadership of District Election Officer Rajesh Kumar Shavan, has intensified voter awareness campaign through the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) drive.
The key objective is to achieve maximum voter participation, especially targeting absentee voters, who may have been unable to vote in previous elections.
To this end, the District SVEEP Office is coordinating closely with Assembly Constituency (AC) level SVEEP Nodal Officers and a variety of local stakeholders to mobilize, educate, and engage voters across the district.
Across all Assembly constituencies, the SVEEP campaign is organizing a variety of activities, including rallies, debates, speeches, signature campaigns, painting competitions, and slogan writing events. These initiatives are taking place in schools, public spaces, and polling booths under the supervision of AC Nodal Officers.
Students, teachers, lecturers, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Bharat Scouts & Guides (BAGs), voters, and prominent citizens are being involved in these programs to create widespread awareness about the importance of voting.
In AC 48-Inderwal, the remote area of Marwah has become a focal point for electoral awareness efforts. A range of events were held, where teachers, students, and community leaders, including the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Marwah and the Zonal Information Communication Coordinator (ZICC) Marwah, delivered speeches highlighting the significance of exercising the right to vote as a foundation of democracy. A unique feature of these activities was the erection of a “Democracy Signature Wall” at Marwah, where local voters left their signatures as a symbol of their commitment to participating in the upcoming elections.
The outreach extended to even the most remote areas, such as the Unique 01-Sukhnai, Polling Station in AC 48-Inderwal , one of the farthest polling stations in the district, where a similar program took place to ensure that no voter is left behind.
Several educational institutions hosted debates and symposiums, including a well-attended event at GHS Galigarh in AC 49-Kishtwar.
A mega rally was taken out from GHSS Sarthal, where participants, accompanied by drumbeats and band masters, marched through different localities to encourage voter turnout. Poster-making competition, slogan writing activities, and speeches added to the vibrancy of the event, which saw participation from locals and prominent community figures alike.
The AC 50-Nagseni Paddar witnessed an energetic SVEEP campaign, with a mega rally organized in Padyarna village of Nagseni by the SVEEP Nodal Officer and his team. An enthusiastic participation of Voters of all age groups marked the great success of the rally in the area.
The rally aimed to inform and motivate voters about the importance of participating in the upcoming elections, further contributing to the district-wide goal of maximum electoral participation.
