SVEEP: Promoting civic engagement, Kindergartens present flowers to first time female voters at Sumbal
BANDIPORA, APRIL 03: As part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, District Administration Bandipora on Wednesday organized mega awareness programme for first time female voters at irrigation colony Sumbal.
The program started with an interactive session of Coordinator Pink polling stations for assembly constituency 14-Sonawari Mufti Sheeba with first time female voters.
The main attraction of the programme was presence of kindergartens from various schools who presented flowers to first time female voters to encourage them for participating in electoral process.
An awareness programme under SVEEP was also held in conference Hall irrigation colony Sumbal which was presided over by ARO 14- Sonawari (SDM Sumbal) Amir Chowdhary and was attended by first time female voters, ASHA Workers and Anganwadi workers.
While interacting with the first-time female voters, the SDM Sumbal (ARO 14 – Sonawari) Amir Chowdhary highlighted the importance of first time voters and their role in encouraging others to exercise their right to vote.
He also deliberated on facilities available in pink polling stations to facilitate voters.
On the occasion coordinator SVEEP activities Arsullah Habib highlighted the importance of SVEEP activities at grass roots level.
The training session on EVM for first time female voters, Asha and Aaganwadi workers was also conducted by DLMT Mohammad Iqbal Samoon and Ishtiyaq Ahmad Samoon.
Among others, the program was attended by Nodal officer SVEEP (Principal BHSS Bandipora) Ab Rashid Lone and other concerned.
