SVEEP team organises cricket match in Leh

Leh, Apr 22, 2024: The SVEEP team, UT Ladakh organised a cricket match with two teams comprising the election staff today on April 22 at NDS ground, Leh.

The cricket match was played between the CEO team headed by Captain, District Information Officer, NIC, Leh, Tashi Tundup and the DEO team headed by Captain, Nodal Officer, Election Expenditure Monitoring (EEM), Dr Zulfikar Ali. 

The match was organised to inform, motivate, empower, educate, engage and empower the first time voters and youth. The event focused on creating awareness and highlighting the importance of voting in a democracy and encouraging everyone to exercise their right to vote on May 20.

The winning trophy was presented to the CEO team by the first Chief Electoral Officer, UT Ladakh, Yetindra M Maralkar. He also presented the man of the match trophy to DIO, Leh, Tashi Tundup. 

State Nodal Officer, SVEEP, UT Ladakh, Dr Tsewang Morup also participated in the match.

Other officials present were Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, UT Ladakh, Delex Namgyal, District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Leh, Tajamul Ara, State SVEEP Icon, Phonsok Ladakhi and District SVEEP Icons, Leh, Tsewang Dorje and Stanzin Dorjai Gya. 

The match consisted of 20 overs in which the CEO team scored 185 runs with 7 wickets and the DEO team scored 168 runs with 9 wickets.
