Swachhata Karvaan: Awareness program held at Hajin

BANDIPORA, May 10: Swachhata Karvaan, an intensive sanitation and hygiene awareness programme was held on Wednesday in Block Hajin.

The program was organised by District Administration Bandipora in collaboration with Rural Sanitation J&K.

Deputy Director Rural Sanitation J&K, Qazi Masood besides Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Bandipora were present on the occasion and elaborated the main objective of Swachhta Karwan .

The programme aims to ensure that open defecation-free behaviours are sustained and that solid and liquid waste management facilities are accessible.

He further said by the end of this month the district will be declared legacy waste free.

On the occasion, a pledge-taking ceremony was also organized wherein the participants were administered the oath and motivated to involve themselves in cleanliness activities.

A series of events were held on the occasion including Nukkad Natak, Painting Competition, Debate and Quiz Competition.
