Swachhata Pakhwada cleanliness drives held across Kulgam
ADC leads mega sanitation drive at Mini-Secretariat, administered pledge of Swachhata, Nasha Mukht, Non-Violence among participants.
KULGAM, OCTOBER 01: Massive cleanliness drives across district Kulgam were carried out under Swachhata Pakhwada, themed “Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”.
A Shramadaan of one hour was conducted with an aim to pay sincere tribute to Mahatma Gandhiji in terms of cleanliness of our surroundings, fostering the values of community service and nation building.
During shramadaan of one hour, participants picked up the litter from roads, parks, offices, schools, public places, water bodies, etc for disposing it off in an environment friendly manner.
Meanwhile, all departments organized swachhata drives across offices and cleanliness drives were also held at public places such as bus stands, tourist spots, river fronts, drains and nallahs in both rural and urban areas.
Mega sanitation drive was also held in and around the Mini Secretariat Kulgam led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Viqar Ahmed Giri which was also attended by officers and officials housed in mini- secretariat besides students and sweeping staff from Municipal Council Kulgam also joined the drive.
Meanwhile, sanitation drives were also held at panchayats, schools, colleges, health institutions and all other offices.
Municipalities also carried out special sanitation drives in all 04 municipalities.
Pledge ceremonies were also held. ADC administered Swachhta pledge, Non-violence Pledge and Pledge against the drugs among participants at mini secretariat Kulgam.
