Swachhata Pakhwada: Series of cleanliness, plantation drives conducted across Ramban

RAMBAN, AUGUST 08: Under the patronage of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, various institutions and departments across the district actively participated in Swachhata Pakhwada 2024, organizing a series of cleanliness drives, plantation activities, and awareness programs aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.


The GDC Batote led the way with a rally and Swachhta Pakhwada at Baghu Nalla Gurdwara, Batote. Earlier in the day, a cleaning and mopping drive was conducted inside the campus.


PHC Mangit, Block Banihal, observed the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ plantation drive, dedicating trees to the nurturing spirit of mothers.


The SDAO Office Ramban and the 33/11 KV Receiving Station Maitra, Ramban, both organized cleanliness drives and plantation activities, promoting a productive work environment and a greener future.


The CHC Batote and SDH Banihal joined the campaign by conducting thorough cleaning and mopping activities, ensuring a hygienic environment for patients and staff.
The Batote Forest Division honoured the memory of Shaheed Abdul Qayoom by organizing a plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’ initiative at Middle School Failty, in the presence of DDC Member, Renuka Katoch. DIC Ramban also led a cleanliness drive in Batote, further contributing to the Swachhata Pakhwada initiative.


In educational institutions, Government Polytechnic Chanderkote conducted a poster-making and slogan-writing activity under Swachhta Pakhwada, followed by an integrity pledge and the National Anthem.


Eco House of HSS Dhandrath engaged students in the segregation of waste materials, while Government High School Kariya and GPS Champa Batote focused on educating students about the proper segregation and use of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.


To ensure Nasha Mukt Bharat, GDC Banihal organized an awareness program where Health Educator Shabir Ahmed Pala delivered a lecture on the importance of a drug-free society. Additionally, an awareness session was held at the Ayush Health and Wellness Centre Dharam by the AYUSH Department.


These combined efforts reflect the participants’ commitment to develop a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment, while also promoting social responsibility through the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The active participation of various departments, institutions and the community, strongly emphasize the success of these initiatives.
